Valeri Laur was born in 1948 in Tallinn, Estonia.

In 1974 he graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts, receiving a "Magister of Fine Art" degree, the separation of monumental and decorative painting, the professor - Johannes Võerahansu,
speciality - muralist, painter, vitrazhist, and teacher.

From 1974 to 1977 - worked in the Tallinn State Art Academy in the department of painting and a master of technology, monumental painting.

From 1977 to 1990 - lived and worked in Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk region, Siberia.

During this period, carried out a number of monumental works, mostly murals in public enterprises and objects from Ust-Ilimsk:

Houses of culture, shopping centers, factories, clubs, libraries, pharmacies, restaurants and more.

He also served as chief artist of the city on a voluntary basis.

In 1985 he was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Soviet Union.

Since 1990 he lives and works in Tallinn, Estonia.

From 1990 to 1994 he worked with the Russian-Italian company "TREMO" in Moscow. During this period, carried out a number of monumental and decorative paintings in hotels and restaurants of Moscow.

Hotels: "Inturist" and "Izmailovo". Restaurants: "Dolce Vita", "Santa Lucia" and "Pantera Nero".

In 1995 he founded an art school "5 plus 5" on their own teaching methods.

In 2005 he opened a school-based "5 plus 5" art studio "Artek".

Since 2010 lives and works Valeri Laur in Estonia and Germany.
